MacKed Adobe Activation

Install and activate Adobe Creative Cloud apps on macOS using MacKed's activation tools — offline and online workflows.

What MacKed Does

MacKed provides activation tools for Adobe Creative Cloud on macOS. You install the Adobe apps you need, then run MacKed's patcher so they work without a subscription. Windows users should use the GenP guide instead.

Don't mix activation methods. MacKed + GenP + old repacks = conflicts. If you've used other methods, run Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool first.

Offline vs Online — Pick One

Offline Method

Download Adobe apps directly with Adobe Downloader — no Creative Cloud account needed. Activate with the offline activation tool. Best if you want to avoid Creative Cloud entirely.

Online Method

Install apps through the official Creative Cloud desktop app, then activate with the online activation tool. Best if you want the standard Adobe install flow and don't mind a free Adobe account.

Pick one method and stick with it. Don't mix offline and online tools on the same Mac.

Before You Start

  • If you have previous Adobe installs from repacks or old cracks, run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool first.
  • Check whether your Mac is Apple Silicon or Intel (Apple menu → About This Mac). Some older Adobe builds need Rosetta.

Offline Method

  1. Download Adobe apps. Use Adobe Downloader — it pulls installers directly from Adobe's servers without requiring a Creative Cloud login.
  2. Activate. Open the offline activation tool, click the plus icon, select the installed app (e.g. /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2025/Adobe After Effects 2025.app), and click Start Activation. Repeat for each app.
  3. Verify. Launch an app — no trial prompt should appear. If you see an unlicensed popup later, follow the Unlicensed Fix guide.

Online Method

  1. Install Creative Cloud. Download from Adobe, create an account, sign in. Decline Adobe Genuine Service if prompted. Quit CC when installed.
  2. Install the online activation tool. Drag it into Applications.
  3. Grant App Management access. System Settings → Privacy & Security → App Management. Add the activation tool and enable the toggle.
  4. Activate Creative Cloud. Add CC at /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud/ACC/Creative Cloud.app in the tool and click Start Activation.
  5. Install your apps. Open CC → Apps tab → install. You should see Install instead of Free Trial.
  6. Activate each app. Add them in the activation tool and patch. Launch to verify.

Post-Install: Disable CC Background Behavior

If you used the online method, open Creative Cloud → Menu → Preferences → General and turn off: Launch at login, Run in background after closing, and Auto-update. This prevents CC from overwriting your activation.

Common Issues

macOS says the app is damaged

Gatekeeper blocking a modified app. See the Gatekeeper Guide.

Activation finishes but still shows trial

Online method: double-check App Management permission is enabled. Also make sure you selected the actual .app bundle — not a shortcut.

Mixed offline and online tools

Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, remove everything Adobe, and restart with one method only.
